After neglecting this blog, as well as my scrap blog, for almost a month now, I've decided to join the two. I find myself with plenty of time on my hands, but little time with motivation. That's soon to change. I will be pushing myself to be creative and always in the mood to blog or scrap. This blog also has a new name and will have a makeover as well. In case you are reading this post before the makeover, just stick tight, and please don't mind the dust. A lot of things will be changing on this blog and in my life. Like in the beginning, this blog will be about my journey through life. But now with more definition. It will showcase my scrapbooking hobby, my soon-to-be design skills, my travel adventures, and my learning experiences. Ohh, and can't forget the extra stuff that makes my life worthwhile, like: decorating, movies, tv shows, friends/family/relationships, and becoming a grown up. So stay tuned, and enjoy the ride! It's finally September (not that I want to leave summer...) and I have a couple of announcements to make! I have accepted a couple of guest spots from two awesome designers!! Back to School Kit...and a new CT!

Did I tell you guys that I've joined a new CT? I've been admiring a certain designer's work for a while now and finally decided to ask when the next CT call would be. I got an email, and was accepted on the spot! It was pretty awesome. Wanna know who the designer is? It's Pixel Perfect Designs!

She has new kit out this week! It is a mini kit and it's perfect for back to school! The images are linked to the product at Polka Dot Plum. And there is a bundle too! I haven't had a chance to work with the rest of the bundle yet but it looks lovely!

Long Overdue Update

So I've finally merged my 101 challenge blog with this blog. All of the posts that were imported from the old blog have a disclaimer at the top that says it is from the old blog. Looks like this, **This post was part of my old 101 challenge blog, and was merged over. K?

It's been three long months since my last challenge update. And I hate to say this, but I haven't really done much. I plan to get back on track with writing down everything again. This upcoming September will be my one year anniversary of starting this challenge. August 5th was also my one year anniversary for this blog! As I complete each goal, I plan to post an individual post for the completed goals. The title might look something like "Completed: Goal 11" or something like that. I'm not sure yet. Each one of those posts will have a picture and a summary of how I completed the goal. I will do this with all future goals and I will also go through the already completed ones to update them. Once all the goals are finished, I plan to turn them into a scrapbook/blog book. I'm not sure on the size yet. I might just make them my normal 8x8 scrapbook size, or I might make them 5x7. What do you think?

Yeah, I know. Not very much progress, huh? And that's three months worth too. Well I've gotten off track with my challenge the past three months so the good thing is that this goals were completed unknowingly. That is good right? And sorry, but no pictures are available at the moment. But I will come back and update the completed ones with their individual posts, including the photos. And I realized that I need to update some of my links my the old blog - so I will have to do that tonight.

I also need to update some of the goals. I need to change the ones that I was already planning to change, and I need to change other that I have no chance of completing, or I am just not interested anymore. That's the sucky thing about creating lists a year in advance - your interests always change! Anyways, I hope to have another update soon!

Designing is Not for Me

At least I can say that I've tried. I just don't have much passion in it to continue at this point. With everything else that's going on in my life, I don't think I would have enough time to scrap AND design, and do everything else. Maybe later on in the future I will try to continue this path. But for now, I'll leave it up to the experts. I did want to leave you with a freebie, my first mini kit that I created. I might also provide you with freebies in the future, if I find time to sit down and design, but that's just a maybe at this point. Well, here's my freebie:

Wedding Date

No, not the movie. Once again, we have decided to push back the wedding date. Our date was getting way too close and we still didn't have anything done. Hopefully this time, we are able to succeed. Our new, and final, date is August 20th, 2011. I really wanted to keep our last date (August 28th) but next year it will be a Sunday, and I don't think that would have worked out too well.

Also, this year, we still plan to do something on our supposed-to-be wedding date. Maybe go out to Seattle for a weekend getaway kinda thing. We plan to get tattoos also. We were gonna get matching tattoos for our wedding, and I thought we were gonna still do that this year, since we can't have the wedding. But Hubby wants to wait to next year to get them for the wedding. That's ok though, more tattoos for me! :]

House Shopping

We plan to buy our first house within a year after the wedding. Even though that's at least a whole year away, I love to start on ideas. I'm constantly gathering ideas for our new future house and for current apartments that we may stay at before then. Although decorating apartments is not as fun as decorating your own house, you can still make it enjoyable. I hate that we can't paint apartments - and I definitely don't want to waste the money to paint and then re-paint it back to white.

I LOVE COLOR. Especially when I have to look at white walls, the color in the room will be so much more bearable. I am always looking for items that will work for me now, in an apartment, and later when we have our own paint-able and customizable house. I was browsing CSN.com the other day, and found some really cute table lamps. They have a lot of great lamps! From the basic to colorful, there are so many!

And here's my LO. I scrapped some photos from when I first moved to Hawaii. This was about 3-4 days after we flew in, and it was my first time at Waikiki Beach. The photo in the background is of Diamond Head. A famous crater in Waikiki, which of course used to be a volcano many years ago. I never had a chance to hike to the top - I've heard it has a great view! But I would definitely hike up there if I ever had another chance.

A New Path

I've decided to take the leap into designing. Since making this decision, I've also decided to create a separate blog for all scrap-related items. This blog will be used for showcasing my personal LOs, my CT commitments, my (upcoming) scrap designs, and my portfolio. I also wanted to let you know that I am available for Scrap for Hire! I love to scrap for others. I've only made one other photobook for a client so far, so I am willing to offer discounts to potential clients to boost my portfolio. Just contact me, and ask about the discount, and I will let you know what I can do for you. I recommend filling out the order form, to make things easier for the both of us. If you are unsure of some items, go ahead and check it anyway. It is just a draft, to get us on the same page. You can also check out available packages here.

My other main reason for this blog is for my scrap designs. I was going to provide you with a welcome freebie for my first post, but I didn't have time to finish it in time. But I promise you will get it soon! I am in the process of looking for a store - please let me know if you know anyone who is looking for new designers! I would start out with opening my own store, but I don't want to deal with hassle of creating the store as well as learning how to create one. If you have ideas for that also, please let me know! As soon as I find a store, I will be in search of a creative team - stay tuned for that!

These are both from my 16th birthday party. It was my first birthday after I moved to Hawaii. We went to the Ice Palace for a pizza and skating party and walked around Waikiki afterwards. It was my first time ice skating. It was fun, but I definitely DID fall! hahaha...definitely cold! Enjoy this new kit! It was very fun to work with. Sorry, I'm just about two days late! I need to get into the habit of posting these things early/on-time. Before we get to the new releases, I just wanted to say that I've been honored to have a layout in the Gallery Standouts for June 19th! Turns out two people actually loved the same LO, its really cool. Its not a big accomplishment but it was nice to know that my LO stood out to them. Here is the LO:

Graduation Planning

I received the invitation to my graduation ceremony last week and mailed in the response card. I am so excited to be graduating! Its been three long years, and I am ready to finish. Oh, and the ceremony date is June 13th! I only have three more class sessions, and then I'm done!

Most of my family lives in Washington but I do have some on the other side of the states. I want to create an announcement to send them to announce my graduation.

I've been looking at these announcements from a company called Storkie. They have AMAZING invitations and announcements. I love the ones with the little cartoons on them.

But at $1.79 a piece, I can't afford it. Especially since they require a 20 quantity mininum. So I thought about making my own graduation announcements, using my digiscrap supplies. Now, what kind of layout? I found four of my faves online. They should be easy to recreate. Which one is your favorite?

Free Pizza!

I recently had a chance to try out some Freschetta FlatBread . And its good! I normally don't buy frozen (or even fresh) pizza but I always love a chance to try something new. I went to my local Albertsons to buy the pizza and they have a good selection! They were on sale for $4.99 each, but the original price was $7.99. Since the price was so high, I would only go back again if it was on sale. I didn't see any of the flat bread, but that's ok. We got two of the Naturally Rising and one of the Brick Oven. I personally like the Brick Oven better. I'm much more of a thin crust person, and Freschetta did not fail to impress me in that!

When we made the Brick Oven pizza, it turned out perfect. It is my favorite! But when we made the two Naturally Rising pizzas, they were a little soft. I left it in the oven for the amount of time it said on the box, but I think I should have left it in a little longer. Both of them were very good! I would definitely buy again!

I finally had a chance to sit down and work on some digiscrap LOs. Mind you, I am only able to create about 2-3 a day because there is something wrong with my photoshop. I have no clue what the problem is, or how to fix it, but it will often freeze up, tell me that there is an error, and shut down. Its really irritating but I don't know what to do about it. I have to save my work just about every 30 seconds, or every time I make an edit. If I don't, then a lot of times I will lose my work. Sometimes I've even had it shut down while I'm trying to save! Its really sucks. Oh well, what can I do?

I wanted to share with you all what I have been up to. I have some Artscow credits for 30-paged photobooks, so I'm trying to at least complete one. So I've been working like crazy to complete an album, and the one I chose was our family vacation to Florida back in 2003. I don't know why I chose this one, maybe because its the easiest, not sure. I think I remember seeing it when I was buying gifts for my friend Stephanie who had her son last September. I didn't buy it though because I decided to buy her something else. It is available in most drug stores, convenient stores, and discount stores nationwide. I usually shop at Walmart and that's where I found the butt paste.

Boudreaux's Butt Paste has been featured on Oprah, The Tonight Show, The Today Show, ESPN, While You Were Out, and even in People Magazine.

From the package, it seems like a good product. I don't really know of anyone that uses it so I can't comment on the product itself. Most of my family and friends that I've talked to don't use diaper rash ointment. To them its just an added expense that they don't need. However, when I have my first baby, I might try it out and see if it is worth it. I'm sure it would have many benefits to it, like convenience and effectiveness. I'm sure it smells good too!

The New Me

Turning 21, that's a huge step. To celebrate this milestone, I've decided to chop off my hair. It's been awhile since I've gotten a haircut, and I want to start off fresh when I turn 21. On my birthday, my fiance and I will have engagement pictures taken. It'll be fun, and I wanted to make sure that my hair was cut before then. To give me time to adjust, I decided that today would be the perfect day to cut my hair. It feels weird having my hair short, but I love it. Here are the before and after photos:

It looked a little funny after it was cut, so I took my shower, hoping this it would look better afterward. And guess what? It did! I love how it turned out! What do YOU think?

Twilight: Eclipse

I love Twilight. This is such a great year for me. I will be graduating from college, getting married, turning 21, and I get to watch awesome movies. Another good thing is that I live about fours away from Forks, WA. I have a goal to visit it sometime this year, preferably before Eclipse comes out. Or...maybe I can watch Eclipse while I'm in Forks! That would be cool. Go ahead and view this awesome trailer. You'll love it so much, you'll be counting down the days until June 30th, the day it comes out. AND they are showing it at the IMAX theater. I love Florida. I love it so much that we are planning on going there for our honeymoon. We were initially thinking about staying at Disney World (because we are big kids at heart!). But after reading up on Kissimmee, Florida, I might try to convince my fiance to stay there instead. Its only about 30 minutes south of Orlando, which makes it easily accessible to all the theme parks and shops.

On my dream honeymoon vacation, we would stay at the Quality Suites Royale Parc Suites hotel. It is only one mile away from Disney World so it is at a perfect distance for us. I've never been to Kissimmee before but I have been to Orlando. I love visiting new places and this would be a perfect addition to my list! I love being able to do free things while on vacation and one thing I would like see is the Monument of States. ------>

Of course we would also visit Disney World, Universal Studios, and Seaworld. There are so many fun options in Kissimmee, its hard to narrow down what I would like to see and do. Because I want to experience it all! :]

Busy Day

What a busy day today was. I had an dentist appointment at 1pm, shopped for two hours, ate a late lunch, and then went to school at 5pm. Very busy for me. Most days I don't even have one thing going on, and this one I had three.

I had so much fun shopping today. I had a Jo-ann giftcard for $20 plus some awesome 50% coupons. I only spent $17 dollars and everything was on sale except for two items, but I used the 50% coupons on them. I saved about $10 dollars! Everything I bought is for my card making business. I will be selling them on Etsy (which is why you see an Etsy sidebar). I already made three cards and will be posting them tomorrow. I just need to take the pictures, and then they will be posted. I hope you guys like my cards. Maybe enough to buy one? Pretty please? :]

As for school, it sucked. I really hate business. I don't know why I ever decided to get a business degree. Its my last class, and I will be graduating this quarter, so I can't really change my mind now. I will, however, go back to school to get a second degree. I'm not sure what its gonna be yet, but I want it to be specialized. Here are some ideas:

That's all the ideas I have for now. I'm a creative person, so I want a creative degree. Business really is sucking the creativeness out of me. I only have one class, and IT IS SO BORING! Everyone else is talking and joining in the discussions, but not me. I sit in the back, all quiet. Its mostly because I'm shy but its also because I'm not interested in the topics. They bore me. Talking about managers and small businesses, its so boring. So, that means that I need to do some research. I need to find out what kind of degree I want, and where I want to get it. Oh, I might become a teacher too. That's another idea. What do you think?

A New Date

After going back and forth on this for a while, my hubby-to-be and I have decided to move the wedding date. With only two months to go, we didn't think we would be able to pull it off in such a short time. We still have to get our apartment (we are waiting for a call back, at the moment) and get new jobs. So there's definitely no extra money for a wedding right now. We pushed it back a couple more months, so now we have four months to go. Its not that much longer, but its still enough to let us save up money.

We have been going over the budget as well. We have made sure to know what important, and know that the extra details are just extra. If we have extra money, after the important things, then I will plan/buy the extra stuff. The most important things to us is photography and an affordable venue. I found some great deals, I just need the money for the deposits. So after talking much about it, we are planning our budget for $3500 plus a $2500 honeymoon. What a great challenge that will be. All I have to remind myself is to remember what's important and remember that twenty years down the line, no one will really remember all the little details.

Here begins my road to my $3500 budget wedding. If you have wedding ideas, or vendor recommendations, please let me know! Oh, and in case you didn't catch the picture above, the new date is August 26th, 2010.

Flab to Fab

Yesterday marked the beginning of my weight loss journey. I will be taking part in a challenge called Flab to Fab. I was not chosen to be an official contestant, but that's ok. I am still able to take part as the blogtourage. Anyone is able to join, just go ahead and go to the site. This challenge will last for the next 8 weeks. From March 29 to May 23. For the challenge, my goal is to lose 15 pounds. Now, let's bring on the stats.

I don't have a specific diet plan, but I want to make sure that I eat three meals a day, with one snack in between lunch and dinner, and a dessert after dinner. I am going to keep track of what I eat (starting tomorrow) and stop myself from snacking when I get bored. Right now, its kind of hard to create weekly food menus because we still live at my parents house. My mom is really picky about eating different types of foods and they don't like to buy extra stuff. We should move into a new apartment next week (hopefully Monday). Once we get into the new apartment, I will start creating weekly menus, making it easier for me to track what I eat. I also want to make it a habit to eat meat as an entree no more than four times a week. I am a meat lover, so this will be a little challenging.

As for my exercise plan, I plan to do Wii Fit for an hour everyday, except for Sunday. I also plan to go to the school gym on Tuesday and Thursday and work on completing Couch to 5k on three days of my choosing. I want to put an extra effort to park far when I go places, always take the stairs (unless there are more than 10 floors), and dance while doing household chores.

To get a better lifestyle, and to get more sleep, I will get off the computer at least one hour before I plan to go to bed. During that hour, I will do quiet, wind down activities, such as reading. I also want to make sure to go to sleep earlier, around midnight or one, so I am able to wake up early.

Every week, on Mondays, I will write a post about my past week's progress. Since this is the beginning of the challenge, I don't have progress for you. I plan to make a digiscrap LO for every week's progress. That way, in the end, I will have a nice, pretty scrapbook documenting my challenge. I need to make a LO for my beginning stats, which I was gonna do today, but didn't have time. I will make sure to get that done tomorrow, along with some other LOs.

Updates - - - !

Hmm...many updates but don't know where to start.

First off, I've been doing a lot of wedding research. I've found a lot of great deals (thank you Craigslist!) and am ready to tackle the next step (deposits). Since we got back from Hawaii, we've been staying with my parents, and we have until the end of the month to find a new place. We found a great apartment with a move-in deal of $199 deposit plus $235 1st month rent. Very great deal! The only problem is that we have to wait until April 2nd for Marvin's paycheck. Hopefully my parents will let us stay until then.

The other problem is that we can't confirm our wedding date until we put down the deposit on the venue. And we can't use this paycheck for the deposit because we have to use it for the apartment. Not sure how this is gonna work out. Hopefully my parents will help out with one or the other (hopefully the wedding). So that's that.

I meant to do a lot of scrapping this month, but things have gotten busy. I was going to finish at least two photobooks this month, and I haven't even been able to finish one. Going Home

Stuck in Hawaii

Right now, we are stuck in Hawaii (even though the weather is better than Washington!) so we aren't able to plan anything for the wedding (even if we had the money). I can't wait until we go back to Washington so I am able to visit places and such. All I'm able to do right now is fantasize and plan colors and ideas. Ahh..love to fantasize, but I wish I could actually plan too. Lately, I've just been working on our registries and fantasizing what my new house will look like (with all the wedding presents in it!). A girl love's to dream.

Not yet TTC

Even though we aren't officially TTC yet, we aren't preventing either. I was put on the depo shot back in the beginning of 2007. During 2007-2009, I was off and on. I loved the AF (Aunt Flo) never came (while I was on the shot), but hated the fact that it made it irregular when I was off the shot. Since July 2009, I have been off the shot, and will never go back. I am trying to get my cycle regular again. After the wedding, we will officially start TTC and this blog will turn into a married life/TTC blog.

While in the process of TTC, I will track and chart my cycles and post monthly charts on the blog. But BEFORE we TTC, I still want to start charting my cycles. So, just a warning, I will be posting charts on here, even before the wedding. I won't post anything too gross or detailed (or I was have a warning posted at the top) but I do want to keep my tracking regular, that's why I'm starting this early.

Welcome to our wedding blog. Here I will post all updates and news about our wedding. You can view the main details about the wedding on our wedding website, click here for the link. Go ahead and grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy the ride!

Oops. Almost forgot. On the 1st sidebar, there is a ticker that will show you how far away our wedding is. It is the 2nd ticker there. The 1st ticker will show you how long we have been together (since 04.17.06). I also thought that I should tell you when our wedding date is. It is 06.10.10. Yes, I know, pretty soon! I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. We haven't planned anything yet. Mainly because we don't have any wedding money set aside. We still keep that date set in mind, and we've asked our wedding party already, but we're not sure if there is even gonna be a wedding, only because we don't have the funds. But we are still praying and keeping our hopes up. I will still continue to plan (without putting down deposits/buying items) as much as I can, just in case.
